Committees of the Madison Future Commission 

The Madison Future Commission is comprised of over 150 members of the JMU and surrounding community,
who are participating in the most sweeping and intensive strategic planning process since the Centennial Commission in 1998.

University Planning Team

This team assists and supports the president and his executive leadership team by guiding the planning process at JMU, including the development and maintenance of the university's strategic plan and effective communication of plans and the planning process. Vision and Values Report


Madison Future Commission Prep Teams

The Internal Analysis Team and the Environmental Scan Team were charged with laying the groundwork for the future efforts of the five key MFC committees. The teams’ work will be complete when each submits its final report on February 15, 2013.

Internal Analysis Team

This MFC prep team will study vision, values, and internal concerns related to the university’s future.

Environmental Scan Team

This MFC prep team will study external/global concerns related to the university’s future. Presentation

 

 

Madison Future Commission Committees

Representing Academics, Fundraising, Faculty and Staff Success, Resources, and Student Life & Success,
these are the primary work teams of the Commission. An important element of committee members jobs
will be listening to colleagues and constituents and keeping others apprised of the process.

Academics

The key issues related to the subcommittee’s JMU focus are: Academic performance, academic rigor, accessibility, assessment, culture, curricula, diversity, engagement, ethical decision making, SACSCOC, SCHEV, etc.  Final Report

Fundraising

Resources

The key issues related to the subcommittee’s JMU focus are:  Athletics, campus master plan, enrollment (other than numbers), expanded Level II, facilities, infrastructure, Level III, public revenue sources, technology, etc. Final Report

Student Life & Success

The key issues related to the subcommittee’s JMU focus are:  Citizenship, clubs and organizations, diversity, enrollment (other than numbers), JMU culture (“The JMU Way”), quality of student life, Residence Life, engagement, etc.  Final Report
