Tenebrae

Saturday, November 5 @ 8 p.m., Concert Hall

Based in England, Tenebrae is hailed as one of the world’s most unique and exceptional vocal performance groups. The Forbes Center at JMU will be the first North American university ever to present Tenebrae! Performing by candlelight, Tenebrae creates an awe-inspiring atmosphere of spiritual and musical reflection, where Medieval chant and Renaissance works are interspersed with contemporary compositions to create an ethereal mood of contemplation. Acoustics, dramatic lighting and movement further enhance the choir’s ability to explore all possible sound perspectives, enabling audiences to experience the power of the human voice at its best.

Ticket prices: $33–$36 Advance tickets can be purchased online, by phone or in person at the box office (Mon.–Fri., 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and 1½ hours prior to performance). Major credit cards, cash, checks and JACards accepted.
