JMU Faculty Member Ian Zook is an active orchestral and solo performer and has appeared in concerts throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. He joined the faculty of James Madison University in 2009 and performs frequently with the Madison Brass. As a soloist he has performed with numerous ensembles including the JMU Brass Band at the Kennedy Center, the Charlottesville & University Symphony Orchestra, the Virginia Baroque Consort, and most recently the Chamber Orchestra of Charlottesville in performances of Benjamin Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings.

Mr. Zook's orchestral experience is extensive and has included positions with the Princeton and Haddonfield Symphony Orchestras, and performances as a substitute musician with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Harrisburg, Richmond, Delaware, and Vermont Symphonies. Zook holds a BM from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, an MM from the University of Michigan, and is a Doctoral Candidate at Rutgers University.

The program features the music of Beethoven, Duvernoy, Neuling, Hindemith and Doppler, as well as special performances on an antique valveless natural horn from the early 19th century.

Ticket prices: $8–$10 Advance tickets can be purchased online, by phone or in person at the box office (Mon.–Fri., 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or 1½ hours prior to performance). Major credit cards, cash, checks and JACards accepted. Day of performance tickets will be sold beginning at 5 p.m. at JMU’s Convocation Center Box Office Entrance D. Major credits cards, cash, checks and JACards accepted.
JMU student tickets: $4 in person at Forbes Center Box Office only with student ID. One ticket per ID. Student tickets are not available online.

Mailing Tickets/Will Call — Tickets that are ordered more than two weeks in advance of a performance will be mailed to the address on file. Ticket orders received less than two weeks prior to a performance will be held for pickup at the Will Call window.
