Guitar Ensemble

JMU’s premier guitar ensemble, under the direction of Keith Stevens, performs modern works by JMU alumnus, Andrew York, and English composer, Astor Piazzolla. Also features the Tangos by Canadian composer, Patrick Roux, and Argentinean composer, Astor Piazzolla, as well as Brazilian music by Paulo Bellenati.

The James Madison University Guitar Ensemble is a student based performing ensemble dedicated to performing both chamber literature and large guitar orchestra repertoire. The JMU Guitar Ensemble performs on campus each semester, as well as periodic off campus venues, such as festivals.

Keith Stevens (guitar) enjoys a musical career that balances performing, teaching, composing, and arranging. He has performed throughout the east coast, and has compositions and arrangements published by Les Productions D’OZ, Clearnote Publications, and Hal Leonard. Mr. Stevens also plays Lute and Renaissance guitar with The Peartree Consort, an early music ensemble based in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He holds both a B.M., M.M. in classical guitar performance from James Madison University.

Ticket prices: $8–$10 Advance tickets can be purchased online, by phone or in person at the box office (Mon.–Fri., 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and 1½ hours prior to performance). Major credit cards, cash, checks and JACards accepted.
JMU student tickets: $4 in person at box office only with ID. Cash only 1½ prior to performance.

Mailing Tickets/Will Call — Tickets that are ordered more than two weeks in advance of a performance will be mailed to the address on file. Ticket orders received less than two weeks prior to a performance will be held for pickup at the Will Call window.
