Gay Men’s Chorus Together Again

Saturday, April 14 @ 8 p.m., Concert Hall

Two esteemed vocal ensembles from the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C, will share the stage for an incredible evening of pop, Broadway, jazz, country and classical singing to benefit the Valley AIDS Network (affiliated with the Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services on the campus of JMU). Potomac Fever, a 12-voice a cappella pop ensemble, will perform followed by Rock Creek Singers, a chamber ensemble of 25. The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., (GMCW) strives “to entertain through excellent musical performance, to affirm the place of gay people in society and to educate about the gay experience.” Now celebrating its 30th anniversary season, the GMCW has performed at “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial,” the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall and Boston’s Symphony Hall, among others.
