Beth Chandler, flute and Friends

A frequent guest artist and master class clinician, Beth Chandler has performed and presented at major venues, festivals, and universities throughout the United States and abroad. Chandler will be joined by JMU faculty members, Carl Donakowski (cello), Kevin McMillan (baritone), Janice L. Minor (clarinet), Lori Piitz (piano), Eric Ruple (piano) and Keith Stevens (guitar). The concert is entitled “Hazy, Humid and Hot!: Music of Debussy, Ravel and Piazzolla.”

Beth Chandler enjoys an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player and teacher. She has won numerous awards and honors, including the top prizes of the Flute Talk Magazine Competition and Myrna Brown Artist Competition, as well as National Flute Association (NFA) competitions. As a Fulbright Scholar, Chandler studied in Kent, England. A native Texan, Chandler holds degrees from Baylor University, New England Conservatory and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Her principal teachers include Helen Ann Shanley, Trevor Wye, Paula Robison, Jack Wellbaum (piccolo), and Bradley Garner. Chandler is Associate Professor of Flute at James Madison University. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the National Flute Association and will assume the role of Chair in 2012. Please visit Beth Chandler for more information.

Ticket prices: $8–$10 Advance tickets can be purchased online, by phone or in person at the box office (Mon.–Fri., 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and 1½ hours prior to performance). Major credit cards, cash, checks and JACards accepted.
JMU student tickets: $4 in person at box office only with ID. Cash only 1½ prior to performance.

Mailing Tickets/Will Call — Tickets that are ordered more than two weeks in advance of a performance will be mailed to the address on file. Ticket orders received less than two weeks prior to a performance will be held for pickup at the Will Call window.
