Grammy nominated JMU trumpet professor, Chris Carrillo and Associate Professor of Organ and Piano at Bridgewater College, Dr. Larry Taylor perform works by Georg Philipp Telemann, Marcel Bitsch, Manuel deFalla, Joseph Turrin and Edward Diemente.

Chris Carrillo, a Conn-Selmer trumpet artist, has performed with numerous ensembles including the Dallas Wind Symphony, the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble and the “President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band Brass Quintet; Carrillo is a former member of the symphony orchestras of Austin, Corpus Christi and Victoria. As a soloist, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Victoria Bach Festival.

Noted for his musical diversity, Carrillo is also an active performer in the commercial medium, having performed for national advertising campaigns including AT& T, Horseshoe and Caesar’s Entertainment. He has also performed with several Broadway touring productions including Carousel, Chicago, A Chorus Line and The Producers. Mr. Carrillo earned his doctorate at The University of Texas at Austin and did additional study as an exchange student at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

Larry C. Taylor is Associate Professor of Organ and Piano at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree from Seton Hill University, master’s degrees in organ from Emory University and in piano from the University of Notre Dame, and a doctorate from the University of Cincinnati where he was the winner of the Strader Organ Competition. Dr. Taylor has taught music theory and ear training at the University of Cincinnati and ear training at Notre Dame. He has particular interests in “perfect pitch” ear training techniques as well as piano and organ methods that incorporate Alexander technique for graceful movement. Larry also serves as organist/choir director at Luray United Methodist Church.

Ticket prices: $8–$10 Advance tickets can be purchased online, by phone or in person at the box office (Mon.–Fri., 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and 1½ hours prior to performance). Major credit cards, cash, checks and JACards accepted.
JMU student tickets: $4 in person at box office only with ID. Cash only 1½ prior to performance.

Mailing Tickets/Will Call — Tickets that are ordered more than two weeks in advance of a performance will be mailed to the address on file. Ticket orders received less than two weeks prior to a performance will be held for pickup at the Will Call window.
