Prepare to leave your preconceptions at the door. AXIS Dance Company, one of the world’s most acclaimed and innovative ensembles of performers with and without disabilities, will change the way you think about dance and the possibilities of the human body forever. Expect an evening of breathtaking dance and bold ideas as AXIS performs intensely physical and theatrically stunning works by extraordinary choreographers. Performances include Full of Words by Marc Brew and Light Shelter by David Dorfman which features an 11-person community cast with and without disabilities. Founded in 1987, AXIS has become a jewel of contemporary dance and disability culture. The group has paved the way for a powerful contemporary dance form — physically integrated dance — performing across the world and in more than 60 cities nationwide. Mature Content

Ticket prices: $33–$36 Advance tickets can be purchased online, by phone or in person at the box office (Mon.–Fri., 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and 1½ hours prior to performance). Major credit cards, cash, checks and JACards accepted.

JMU student tickets: $18 in person at box office only with student ID. One ticket per ID. Student tickets are not available online. Cash only 1½ hours prior to performance.

Mailing Tickets/Will Call — Tickets that are ordered more than two weeks in advance of a performance will be mailed to the address on file. Ticket orders received less than two weeks prior to a performance will be held for pickup at the Will Call window.
