Cybex 101 - Meet the UREC fitness staff and learn how to incorporate our newest line of equipment into your workout.
• 11:00am - 11:30am in Fitness 2, upstairs cardio area (10 people)
Core Training - Work on strength and stability of the abdominals and back muscles in this 30 minute class.
• 11:15am - 11:45am in the Group Fitness Room (30 people)
Disc Golf - Come enjoy a relaxed day at Westover Park and play a round of Disc Golf. UREC will supply the discs, this is for any skill level.
• 10am - 12pm - Meet at Westover Park in front of the Outdoor Swimming Pool (Capacity: 15 people)
First Aid - This course provides training in recognizing an emergency situation. The participant will be able to: control severe bleeding, care for shock, soft tissue and bone injuries, sudden illness, and heat/cold related emergencies.
• 10am - 12pm - Wet Classroom (Capacity: 16)
Outdoor Guide to the Shenandoah Valley - Believe it or not Harrisonburg serves as the epicenter to many world class mountain bikers, and tri-athletes. We have great trails for hiking, biking and cycling. There is amazing rock climbing and bouldering no more than 30 minutes way from your front door. The Outdoor Guide Program is an interactive program that will help you identify some of your adventure aspirations and help you find away to make them happen.
• 10am - 11am in the Instructional Room (Capacity: 35)
Racquet Ball Tournament - Up for some friendly competition? Join UREC intramurals for a single-elimination tournament. No equipment? No problem, the UREC Equipment Center has everything you need to join in and play!
• 10am - till there is a winner - Meet in the Atrium (no limit)
UREC Tours - Come and receive a tour of this award winning facility. Learn about all the different programs offered, not only for JMU faculty and staff, but for their families as well!
• 10am and 11am (Two separate tours), meet in the Atrium (Capacity: 20)
Yoga - Begin your journey to well-being and stress-relief by experiencing Sun Salutations and standard poses used in Yoga classes.
• 10:00-11:00am in the Group Fitness Room (Capacity: 30 people)
