Environment Lab
The Environmental Lab provides students with an appreciation and understanding of today's environment by providing hands-on and computer-simulated exercises. The lab has three components: chemical analysis, computer modeling and environmental regulation. In the chemical-analysis component, students learn through hands-on experiments. The computer-modeling component requires students to use existing as well as develop new computer models and simulations. These models and simulations are then used to visualize and study contaminate dispersion, air quality, solid waste management, water pollution, ground water contamination, deforestation and acid rain. In the third component, students learn about environmental regulation as they apply to planning and policy administration. This part of the laboratory allows students to electronically access regulatory programs, online regulations, literature and environmental-related databases.
