2008 Transitions Schedule at a glance

Sunday, August 17

10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Welcome Center Check-In:

> if you live on campus, we will have a packet of information including a temporary access card (which will enable you to get into your residence hall) waiting for you.
> Feel free to stop by and say hello and/or to any ask preliminary questions you may have, even if you do not live on campus.

You can reach a staff member on the office phone: (540) 568-6119. When on campus, simply dial: 86119 from the emergency phone box located outside the residence hall doors or your room telephone.

12 - 3 p.m. Residence Hall Check-In: If you will reside on-campus, the residence hall staff will be available to check you in (and give you your room key) then.

Directions

  • oIP's International Student and Scholar Services is located in the James Madison Administrative Complex Building 6 (JMAC 6), which is directly behind the Massanutten Hall (modern looking building on S. Main St. near Buffalo Wild Wings), in Suite 23 .
  • Ashby Computer Lab is located on the side entrance of Ashby Hall
  • Gibbons - D-Hall (or the Dining Hall) is located in Gibbons in The Commons (near Warren Hall and Taylor Hall).
  • Godwin Steps are the steps located next to the bookstore, facing the road
  • Taylor Down Under (or TDU) is located in the bottom floor of Warren Hall & Taylor Hall
  • Transitions room is located in Warren Hall
  • The University Farm is located on 9906 Port Republic Road (Rt. 331). It is about 9.7 miles from JMU’s main entrance to campus on Bluestone Dr. Cross over major intersection Cross Keys or Rt. 276, pass the Pineville intersection and the Shady Grove intersection. Around mile 9.6, an auto dealership with many cars parked in a small wooded lot will be on your right. Shortly thereafter, turn right at the Rt. 331 sign (found on the left side) or onto Alumnae Dr. Take the narrow gravel path all the way to the end.
