What are “LINKers?”

LINK logo
LINK stands for Leader for International Networking & Knowledge and consists of 10 JMU students. The program started with 4 LINkers in 2006 and has grown to 10 LINKers in 2012 due to the popularity of the program and also to keep up with the increasing number of international students. The LINKers serve as the main links between incoming international students and the current international community at JMU. Their goal is to positively impact the lives of the JMU international community.

What do they do exactly?

  • Communicate with prospective and admitted international students
  • Act as orientation leaders during Transitions by leading small group discussions, campus tours, acting in a play, etc…
  • Serve as a role models and peer mentors for new international students
  • Positively impact the campus climate for international students

What advice do they have for JMU admitted international students?
