Phi Beta Delta

The Office of International Programs would like to encourage students, faculty, and staff that have demonstrated an interest in international scholarship and research to join Phi Beta Delta, an Honorary Society dedicated to International Scholarship. Students who have been nominated must possess the following qualifications:

  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate status
  • GPA of 3.2 for undergraduates and GPA of 3.5 for graduate students
  • International students: demonstration of high scholastic achievement at JMU, or
  • Domestic students: demonstration of high scholastic achievement in the pursuit of academic studies abroad

Phi Beta Delta is the first honor society dedicated to recognizing scholarly achievement in international education. The chapter serves as a catalyst for recognizing and promoting international endeavors on campus. Elected officers guide the chapter in initiation of new members and in scheduling events and activities of interest to the membership.

An introductory fee of $55 is required in order to cover national dues as well as induction ceremony fees. A $25 fee is required for each following membership year.
