JMU/University of Malta Master of Science in Integrated Science and Technology – Sustainable Environmental Resources Management
James Madison University and the University of Malta have signed an agreement to offer a dual post-graduate degree program leading to an M.S. in Sustainable Environment Resources Management (SERM). The degree will be awarded by the University of Malta, and concurrently an M.S. in Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT) will be awarded by James Madison University.
The M.S. program will be offered beginning in September 2008 and will be directed by Professor Jonathan Miles (JMU) and Professor Alfred J. Vella (University of Malta). Further information about this degree may be obtained by sending an email to Jonathan Miles at milesjj@jmu.edu.
SERM – Sustainable Environmental Resources Management presents a fresh and innovative course of study that emphasizes the interrelationships between these realms. It weaves the use of analytical tools with a case study approach to address the key issues that define the future welfare of our global environment and the manner by which resources are utilized.
SERM integrates a strong and balanced technical program with policy and legal perspectives. It reflects the impacts and potential of globalization through examples drawn from environmental issues across the Euro-Mediterranean region and, indeed, throughout the world.
