01/10/2008 - Summer 2008 Study Abroad General Orientation for Short-Term Study Abroad Participants

The General Orientation Meeting has been scheduled for all students enrolled in Summer 2008 short-term programs and the details are below:

  • When: Sunday, February 10
  • Where: HHS 2301
  • Time: 5:00 p.m. (check in at 4:45 p.m.)

Attendance at this meeting and all other orientation sessions is MANDATORY, so please make arrangements in advance to avoid conflicts. At the February 10 meeting, you will find out about billing, registration, safety, air transportation, and other items relevant to your participation in a study abroad program. Subsequent group meetings will focus on cultural issues, on-site housing, scheduled travel in your host country, and academic offerings.

If you have not already done so, please apply for a passport now. For passport application procedures, you can consult the following website: www.travel.state.gov/passport.

Our Resource Center at JMAC 6, Suite 22 has a great collection of travel guides and books on different countries or cultures. These items can help you to plan a side trip, a work experience or an internship following your study abroad program. The Resource Center is continually updated with new material, so please make an effort to visit at least once before you go!

We will see you next month!
