Housing for Visiting International Scholars
The University provides two residence hall apartments at Denton's Hall on Court Square in downtown Harrisonburg for short-term visiting scholars. Denton's is within walking distance of campus and a few minutes by city bus. Visiting international scholars and guest lecturers are welcome at no cost on a space-available basis. The length of stay is typically short, from a week to several months. The oIP is happy to provide a "home away from home" in this residence hall which includes a kitchenette and private bath. Preference is given to international guests and scholars coming from outside the U.S., although requests for non-international visitors on a short-term basis will be considered.

Parking
There are a limited number of JMU parking spaces available next to the Denton's complex. JMU spaces have signs designating them as "Denton's Commuter Resident Parking." Valid decals are required to park in these spaces and may be obtained from the JMU Parking Office, located in the parking deck behind Bridgeforth Stadium (568-3300). Residents who park in Denton's spaces without a JMU decal or park in non-JMU spaces risk being towed at owner's expense.
Additional spaces are available on nights (after 5 p.m./before 9 a.m.) and weekends, free of charge, in the Parking Deck located between Water and Bruce streets. For weekday parking when the Denton's Lot is full, spaces are available in the lot across from the Daily News-Record on Liberty Street.
