Melanie Pissarius is the Project Manager for the International Network of Universities (INU) currently headquartered at James Madison University. She holds an M.A. in Political Science from Potsdam University, Germany. A native German, Melanie relocated to the Harrisonburg area in 2011.
After graduating, Melanie helped lead efforts to promote international cooperation and exchange best practices with a number of different organizations spanning the national, international, public, and NGO spheres. She has expanded networks, put together conferences and mediated the exchange of best practice policies between said actors.
Melanie has previously held appointments with the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the German Bundestag, and the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization (ECCO).
Melanie lived, worked, and studied in Great Britain, Italy, Poland, The Netherlands, Germany and Austria. She speaks German and English fluently and is proficient in Italian and Dutch.
