Carol Lena Miller
In her Project Coordinator role at oIP, Carol Lena manages grant and foundation applications and related reporting. She cultivates funder relationships, develops strategies for applications, facilitates partnerships with JMU colleagues and community members, and administers awarded projects.
Carol Lena previously worked as Development and Program Manager for the Virginia Wilderness Committee, a non-profit organization working toward permanent protection of public wild lands through the National Wilderness Preservation System. She has also served on the Board of Directors of several local non-profits, and is currently involved with the Northend Greenway, a community-led initiative to build a multi-use path and linear park in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Carol Lena also has extensive education and experience in computer technology, having earned a BS in Computer Science and a Master's Degree in Computer Science Information Systems from Virginia Tech and working for many years in software application development and management.
Over the years, Carol Lena has enjoyed extensive travel around the globe, both for work and for play. She currently lives in Harrisonburg with her husband and two energetic sons.
