Jonathan Kratz joined JMU in Fall of 2011 as the Assistant Director of International Student Success. Jonathan earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Eastern Mennonite University and completed his M.Ed in College Student Personnel Administration at JMU in May 2012. Prior to joining JMU, he worked at Eastern Mennonite University for the past 11 years in a number of roles; Director of International Student Services, Assistant Director for Admissions and Assistant Women’s Soccer coach. He enjoyed teaching a college success course called “transitions” and assisting two professors lead summer study abroad programs to China (’08) and Ireland/Northern Ireland (’06). In addition, Jonathan serves on the Virginia International Educators Board and is chair of the Board for the Harrisonburg Gift and Thrift Inc. Jonathan enjoys working with international students in their transition to American culture, adjusting to college life and advising students on immigration, cultural adjustment and personal matters. In his role at ISSS, Jonathan will continue his work and seek to provide programs and services to support international students in their success at JMU.
