Jenny Q. Chen earned her B.S. degree in Engineering from Sichuan University in Chengdu, China. After her graduation, Jenny worked multiple years as the Director of Design for a big manufacturer in Chengdu and worked for the Sichuan Provincial Foreign Economic Exchange Association until she relocated to Harrisonburg at the end of 2003. Jenny holds an M.S. in Integrated Science and Technology from James Madison University.
Jenny has successfully assisted and managed JMU Study in China Programs since 2004. Her major activities and contributions include recruiting students, conducting information sessions, planning for travel and scheduling instructors and classes, and teaching courses. She has traveled extensively in China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Jenny has established many contacts in China and has many years of experience working with faculty members and students to promote global education.
Since joining oIP in November 2011, Jenny has worked on special projects hosting foreign students during visit JMU and has assisted and managed travels for JMU and Chinese university administrators and faculty members to promote international educational exchange programs. She also works on projects related to the 2+2 undergraduate programs between JMU and Chinese universities, assists in recruiting students from China, and hosting Chinese government officials and university administrators at JMU.
Jenny enjoys working with faculty and students. She also enjoys planting flowers around her house during her spare time.
