Location Description

Paris – the City of Light - participants will live for one month in the heart of the city within walking distance to the Seine and major tourist sights, the metro, shopping, restaurants & cafes. Paris is known for its famous buildings and works of art, its chic fashion scene and its modern literary, artistic, and intellectual ideals, and is a must for anyone wishing to experience the best of both contemporary and age old European culture. Once just a village that settled on the "Ile de la Cite" (City Island) on the confluence of the Seine's two branches, Paris has vastly expanded over the centuries, taking the surrounding villages under its wing and making them its own. While the academic practicum is at the heart of the experience, participants will spend four weeks living in Paris exploring all the culture that the city of light offers.  In addition, students will travel to Versailles, Giverny, Brugge and Brussels Belgium, and the castles of the Loire Valley. A weekend in London is also an option. Other group experiences will include a lesson in French cooking, wine tasting, and a night at the famous Moulin Rouge.

Additional Information

Although proficiency in French is not required, some French is recommended.
