JMU Summer in Paris

Summer 2008: June 27 - August 8 (tentative dates)

Academic Program  

Students will be able to take upper-division French and General Education courses.  The Six-Week Paris Summer Program will fulfill Study Abroad requirement for the JMU IBUS Program.

Instructional methods include lectures, guided tours, journals assignments and/or papers, and tests/exams.

Tentative course offerings:
FR 307P History French Civilization, 3 credits
FR 308P Contemporary French Civilization, 3 credits
FR 320P French Oral and Written Communication, 3 credits
FR 490P Paris in French Literature & French Lyrics, 3 credits
FR 490P Special Studies in French, 3 credits
ARTH 320 Travel Study in Art History, 3 credits
Students will choose three courses from the list above.

Accommodations

Students will reside in residence halls/dormitories in Paris, France. All meals will be provided.

In addition to the Short-term Application, interested students should submit a faculty recommendation. Applicants must have a 2.8 minimum GPA. Course pre-requisite is FR 300. Applicants must be 19 years of age or older.
