University

La Trobe University offers the opportunity to study at its beautiful campuses, just outside Melbourne – one of the world's most multicultural cities – and at regional centres throughout Victoria. Altogether, La Trobe University's campuses deliver over 450 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a wide variety of disciplines to over 26,000 students.

La Trobe University's main campus, Bundoora, is the largest of its seven Australian campuses, with over 19,000 students and staff. All of the University's five faculties - Education, la trobeLaw and Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology and Engineering - are represented on this campus. With students from over 60 countries the campus has a truly international atmosphere. This beautiful 330 hectare campus is located about 40 minutes north-east of Melbourne's city centre. It includes a world-renowned library, a large Research and Development Park, restaurants and shops, sports and recreational facilities, an art museum, residential colleges, entertainment venues, a medical centre and the Melbourne Wildlife Sanctuary.

Students can also study at La Trobe's Bendigo campus. The 550 staff and 4,000 students at the Bendigo campus enjoy a peaceful and attractive study environment. They are offered a mix of educational, cultural and social experiences which reflect Bendigo’s unique mining and industrial history. Bendigo is approximately three hours from Melbourne.

Program Costs

Exchange programs charge only regular JMU tuition, based on residency, while room and board are paid to the host institution.  Students are responsible for airfare and personal expenses.

All students will be required to purchase Australia's Overseas Health Coverage and a student visa.

Reflection Paper

All students who participate in a JMU exchange program will be required to write a reflection paper upon completion of the program which will be available for future participants to read. Please click here to read past reflection papers from JMU students at La Trobe University.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA and be in good standing with the university.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Scholarships specifically for exchange programs are available each semester. Most forms of financial aid apply to the cost of study abroad programs.
