JMU’s Office of Residence Life leases and operates a residence in Antwerp, officially called “Montpelier House,” but abbreviated by past students to “The Monty.” All apartments in the Montpelier House have either two or three students. Each apartment has its own kitchen and bathroom facility. Each room contains a small refrigerator with
freezer compartment, an armoire, a desk, chair, bed, mattress, sheets, towels, pillows, and other amenities. There are no telephones in the apartments, but each student will be provided a simple cell phone. Laundry facilities are also available in the basement part of the building.
The photo above shows the outside of the building, and the photos below (scroll down) give additional perspective on the residence. The residence is located in a safe, student area of Antwerp – only one block away from the University.
