How to apply
Applications are collected throughout the academic year on the first day of fall semester classes in August for the upcoming open terms. For Summer 2008, Fall 2008, and Spring 2009, please apply beginning August 27, 2007.
The following links will take you to pages with
important information about applying for admission to JMU's international
programs. Please be sure to choose the section that applies to you.
Before filling out the application form, be sure to read all instructions
and discuss your plans with your academic advisor. Specific requirements
of each of the programs are detailed in checklists. Please fill
out the appropriate form carefully, using the checklist to make
sure you have completed all the steps. Please type or neatly print
on the forms. The information supplied will be used to assess your
application and to form the basis of your records abroad.
Only completed applications will be reviewed.
Timeline for Application, Admission, an Deposits:
Short-term Application Review Deadline:
November 15, 2007 (some programs still accepting applications!)
- Notification Date: November 30, 2007
- Acceptance Deadline: December 12, 2007
Semester Application Review Deadline:
February 1, 2008 (fall programs still accepting applications!)
- Notification Date: February 11, 2008
- Acceptance Deadline: February 20, 2008
Letters of acceptance and official Intent to Participate forms will be mailed to local addresses on or before notification dates (see above).
To reserve a space in the program, accepted students must submit a signed Intent to Participate form by the acceptance deadline date (see above) and pay the $500 non-refundable deposit charge on your student account.
