Application Procedures
Please click on the appropriate link below to access the instructions and application for
the type of program you plan to apply. Non-JMU students are welcome to apply to Semester, Short-term and Graduate programs.
Note: All JMU students studying abroad on any type of program must have a JMU application on file.

Programs
There are several ways to study overseas:
Before filling out the application form, be sure to read all instructions and discuss your plans with your academic advisor. Specific requirements of each of the programs are detailed in checklists. Please fill out the appropriate form carefully, using the checklist to make sure you have completed all the steps. Please type or neatly print on the forms. The information supplied will be used to assess your application and to form the basis of your records abroad.
Only completed applications will be reviewed.
Help with application forms
Documents, forms, applications, etc., available for
download from the oIP web site are usually in one of the
formats listed below. They are in order from most used to least
used (i.e., the types of documents you will see the most on the oIP web site
are listed first).
Microsoft Word
Documents in this format will have this icon

If you do not have access to the Microsoft Word software, you
can download a Microsoft Word Viewer from Microsoft's
web site.
Adobe Acrobat
Documents in this format will have this icon 
next to them.
Most computers have Adobe Acrobat Reader already installed. However,
if you find that your computer does not have this software, you
can
download a free copy from Adobe's
web site.
Microsoft Excel
Documents in this format will have this icon  next
to them.
If you do not have access to the Microsoft Excel software, you
can download a Microsoft Excel Viewer from Microsoft's
web site.
Microsoft PowerPoint
Documents in this format will have this icon  next
to them.
If you do not have access to the Microsoft PowerPoint software, you
can download a Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer from Microsoft's
web site.
