11/13/2008 - Study Abroad Applications for 2009-2010 are being processed
I applied to study abroad--when will I find out if I am accepted?
- Applications submitted for Semester and Short-Term Study Abroad Programs by
November 3 are being processed now. Faculty program directors are working with the Office of International Programs to determine eligibility and admission status. Students will receive notification by the end of November (around Thanksgiving). See our timeline for more dates and information.
What happens if I missed the November 3 deadline?
- The OIP will continue to accept applications until March 1, 2009 or until individual programs are full. Applications received after the November deadline will be considered individually on a "rolling basis". Please note that March 1 is not a deadline. If you are considering studying abroad in Summer 2009, Fall 2009 or Spring 2010, you are strongly encouraged to apply early as some programs have limited spaces and will be considered "full" prior to March 1. After March 1, programs will be reviewed to determine if a sufficient number of students have paid deposits for the program to run and if space is still available.
I'm still interested in studying abroad but I want more information?
- To get more specific details about an individual study abroad program, please contact the program director listed on the program web site. If you have a general question about JMU's programs, feel free to email a study abroad advisor at studyabroad@jmu.edu.
Completed applications should be submitted to: JMAC 6, Suite 22 (see map)
