Global Access Project
The
Office of International Programs was invited to join the twelve-institution
Global Access Project (GAP) by the American Association of State
Universities and Colleges (AASCU)
and funded by the U.S. Department of State (DOS).
The project was designed to link State Department resources to colleges
and universities, and by extension, to the communities they serve,
as well as stimulate interest in public diplomacy. GAP activities
included hosting State Department "town meetings," using
digital video conferencing to broadcast State Department speakers
to member campuses, and sponsoring student participation in seminars,
briefings and other State Department activities in Washington, D.C.
