This initiative began with a small project to send several JMU students to a conference of the Interfaith Youth Core (www.ifyc.org). We became aware of the option to bring IFYC 'trainers' to JMU instead. Once we began planning for IFYC's two-day visit, it became clear that in order to create a lasting impact, we should have an interfaith organization to carry on the work. Thus, the Interfaith Coalition, an organization for the JMU community made up of students, faculty and staff. The response has been enthusiastic and the Coalition now has 79 members and participation from a wide spectrum of people, groups and departments across campus.
