The Duke Dog secondary mark consists of the head of
Duke Dog positioned to the right of the letters "JMU" and the name
of an athletics team or athletics organization. A purple
control-shape background and black outline surrounds the entire
logo.

TIP: The shaded area in the grid that frames the
Duke Dog secondary mark is the "clear area" around the mark. No
other graphics or type shall infringe upon this protected
space.

|
The Duke Dog secondary mark must be displayed with
visual integrity according to the following standards.
|
Standards
- The Duke Dog secondary mark shall be legible.
- Only a JMU athletics team or athletics
organization name shall be used in the Duke Dog secondary
mark.
- The Duke Dog secondary mark only shall be used by
the specific JMU athletics team or athletics organization presented
in the mark.

- The Duke Dog secondary mark shall be used in its
entirety, and no part of the mark shall be removed.
- The Duke Dog secondary mark is surrounded by a
"clear area." (See above.) No type or graphic elements shall
overprint, touch or appear behind it.

|
- The Duke Dog secondary mark letters, proportions
and placement of elements shall not be altered.
- The Duke Dog secondary mark is federally
registered and always shall be displayed with the standard
registration mark "®."
- The Duke Dog secondary mark shall not be used as a
background image.

- The Duke Dog secondary mark shall not be used in
proximity to the James Madison logo, the Duke Dog logo, the Duke
Dog mascot mark or the JMU letter mark. Another logo or mark shall
not be closer than the total length from left to right of the
secondary mark.
- The Duke Dog secondary mark shall not be
reversed.
Guidelines
- When used with the words "Dukes"or "Athletics,"
the Duke Dog secondary mark may be used in any communication that
refers to JMU athletics in general.
