Web Browser Compatibility

• James Madison University Web pages should be easily accessible by both Netscape Navigator version 4.0 or later and Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or later.

Guideline

• Web page compatibility with Netscape and Internet Explorer versions 3.0 or later is recommended.
• Sometimes material on your web page will not be supported by browsers "out of the box." Content like Flash , PDF, and some audio and video formats may require user modification. If your Web page contains such material, you should:
• • Provide your audience with alternative content if possible (for example, a page that features an audio clip might also include a text summary of the audio).
  • Ensure that you have provided clear instructions to your audience so that they can easily upgrade their software to view your material.
