Study Abroad
Study Abroad

|
An important aspect of the international business program is
to familiarize the student with the business environment abroad. This is most
effectively accomplished by total immersion in another culture.
| |
Students are now required to study or work abroad for the equivalent of one
semester. They should discuss their plans with their adviser and /or the IBUS
director, and must receive approval from the IBUS director of their choice for
study/ work abroad experience.
| | James Madison University currently conducts study abroad programs in London,
Paris, Salamanca, Florence and Martinique (with more in progress). The College
of Business currently has an exchange program with the European Business School
(Germany). The university has additional study abroad programs in Japan, China, Ghana, Israel and many other
countries.
| | The university also cooperates with study abroad programs
offered by other U.S. Universities, approved in advance by the IBUS director.
Opportunities to study for a semester abroad are virtually limitless.
| | Students may choose to work abroad instead of study abroad. JMU is the host
institution for Commonwealth of Virginia international internship program that
sponsors a number of international internships that students may compete for or
students may locate their own work experience abroad.
