JobLink Upgrade

The new, upgraded JobLink site is now live!

There are many exciting new features that are available in the upgraded site including:

  • New posting templates based on the position type (Faculty, Staff, Students and Graduate Assistants)
  • New reference letter features
  • New documents available for applicants to upload (such as a url to an online portfolio, transcripts, writing samples, etc.)
  • The ability to use your back and forward browser buttons
  • The ability to have multiple windows open at one time

To learn more about the new site and all of the new features, we encourage you to attend one of the following training sessions::

FOR APPLICANTS

Do I need to reapply to jobs I applied to prior to July 13?

No, after the upgrade applicants will not need to reapply to jobs that they previously applied to, their applications will remain live in the previous site for managers to review.

If I have applied to postings in the past will I need to create a new user account?

Yes, all applicants will need to create a new user account in JobLink the first time they apply to a posting in the new site.

When I login to the new site will I be able to access my previous applications?

No, as part of this transition, your current application materials will not be available in the new JobLink site. However, once you apply to a posting in the new site both your application and documents, such as cover letters and resumes, will be saved in the site. 

FOR HIRING MANAGERS

Will PositionLink still be part of the JobLink site? 

No, JobLink and PositionLink will no longer be housed in the same site. Users will now need to visit https://pa041.peopleadmin.com/hr to access PositionLink. This is a new url, if you previously had PositionLink saved as a favorite you will need to update your link. To login to PositionLink users will still use their JMU eID and password. There is also a link to PositionLink on the new JobLink site that will take users directly to PositionLink.

Will postings that were posted prior to the upgrade transfer to the new site?

No, current postings and application materials will not migrate to the new JobLink site. However, users will continue to have access to the previous JobLink site to view and update positions posted prior to the upgrade and application materials submitted by candidates. To access the previous JobLink site please visit https://pa041.peopleadmin.com/hr and use your JMU eID and password to login.

Where do I go to post a new job after the upgrade?

The new url to access JobLink is now: https://joblink.jmu.edu/hr/shibboleth. You will also continue to use your JMU eID and password to login. Since this is a new url please be sure to update your favorites if you had the site saved. 

Will my applicants need to reapply to jobs that were posted prior to the upgrade?

No, after the upgrade applicants will not need to reapply to jobs that they previously applied to, their applications will remain live in the 5.8 site for managers to review.
