Center for Faculty Innovation

The Center for Faculty Innovation (CFI) provides comprehensive professional development opportunities for JMU instructional faculty at all levels and stages of their careers.  CFI initiatives are designed to enhance academic culture and support innovations in teaching, scholarship, and career planning.  The CFI is staffed by tenured and tenure-track instructional faculty who, as teacher scholars in their academic disciplines, are committed to creating a sense of shared community grounded in academic excellence.

JMU Libraries

JMU Libraries provides library and educational technology resources/services. Offers academic resources, physical and virtual spaces, and educational and research services to support your teaching, research, and creative exploration – and your students’ learning. Employee Advisory Committee

As an advisory committee reporting to the President of James Madison University (JMU), the Employee Advisory Committee fosters open, honest and productive communication between employees and the university administration with an emphasis on matters of concern to all employees.

Faculty Senate

The function of the Faculty Senate is to represent the faculty in the consideration of all policies that affect the academic climate and direction of the institution.  The Faculty Senate seeks to create, maintain and protect a university environment conductive to the growth of scholarship, learning, teaching, research, service, and respect for human dignity and rights.

Find Your HR Consultant

The HR Consulting Services Team partners with employees, supervisors, and department leaders to provide enhanced customer service to the university in the following areas:  employee relations, classification, compensation, salary and position studies, performance management and planning, mediation services, employee recognition and rewards, policy interpretation, compliance, and professional development.  To allow for direct access, consistent communication, and targeted customer service, an HR Consultant from the team is assigned to a department or unit on campus to serve, assist, and advise customers as needed.

IT Training

Provides technology training on a variety of topics including Microsoft Office, Computing at JMU and information systems applications such as Student Administration.
