Optional Retirement Plan Open Enrollment
October is open enrollment month for optional retirement plans for higher education. Participants wishing to change ORP companies (Fidelity Investments and TIAA-CREF) may do so during this open enrollment period. Plan changes become effective January 1, 2012.
2012 Holiday Schedule
The governor granted full-time faculty and staff an additional 12 hours of holiday leave for the year 2012. This additional time has been applied to the 2012 Holiday Schedule.![]()
Employee Personal Day
Beginning in 2012, the Personal Day will be granted based on the leave year (January 10, 2012 –January 9, 2013) rather than the calendar year. This change will allow full-time staff and faculty an additional nine days to use their Personal Day that was granted on January 2, 2011. The Personal Day must be taken in its full eight-hour increment.![]()
1500-hour Anniversary Dates for Wage Employees
At the end of the anniversary year, if the 1500-hour anniversary date falls between the 1st and the 15th, the hours will reset on the 1st and ALL hours worked in the pay period will count toward the NEXT year’s total. If the anniversary date falls between the 16th and the 30th/31st, the hours will reset on the 16th and ALL hours worked in the pay period with count toward the NEXT year’s total.![]()
2010 - 2011 Performance Cycle Ending Soon
This year’s annual performance evaluation cycle for non-probationary, classified employees is quickly coming to a close with the evaluation due in Human Resources by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30.

As an important reminder, include the employee’s Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP), along with the completed performance evaluation.
