Parking Deck Repair at Wine Price

The Cantrell Avenue Parking Deck at Wine Price will be closed for repair until July 19. Handicapped parking spaces are still accessible. This may impact your travel time and parking decisions when coming to Human Resources. Parking options for Wine Price visitors include the Grace Street Parking Deck (levels 2 – 7) and lots N6, R12, C4, C5 and R1.


Open Enrollment for Health Benefits, Flexible Benefits and AFLAC Ends May 25, 2012

Benefits representatives in Human Resources will be available during normal work hours and until 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 25 to assist employees with their Open Enrollment needs. Employees may also access EmployeeDirect from the Open Enrollment link at http://www.dhrm.virginia.gov/ to make enrollment changes until 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 25.


Augusta Medical Center Emergency Room Physicians Staying in Anthem Network

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Shenandoah Emergency Medicine Specialists, which is the ER group serving Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, VA., have completed agreements that will allow them to continue to participate in Anthem’s PAR/PPO networks until June 15, 2017. There will be no lapse in coverage for Commonwealth of Virginia members receiving services.

Note that the June 10 to 24 payroll will be paid on Monday, July 2 this year and not Sunday, July 1. Please prepare to budget accordingly.


PeopleSoft Upgrade

The PeopleSoft Human Resource System is scheduled to be upgraded on Monday, May 28. The upgrade will not affect navigation within MyMadison, but will affect navigation for those using Manager Self-Service and other core functions of the Human Resource System. The menu for Manager Self-Service and core users will appear on the left when you first log in, but will move to the top of the screen as you click different menu options. This allows space to display data on the page.

If you would like to preview the new system before May 28, stop by the open lab session in IT Training Center JMAC4 on Wednesday, May 23, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Registration is not required.

Administrative and Professional Faculty Performance Evaluations

Supervisors of A/P faculty should conduct performance evaluations between June 1 and August 31. Evaluation process information, the evaluation template and related policies can be found at http://www.jmu.edu/humanresources/hrsc/ap.shtml. Contact your HR Service Center Representative with questions or to arrange for a personalized informational session.


Promoting Positivity

Policies have a broad impact on the university’s people and processes and are routinely reviewed by the University Policy Committee. Since January 2012, revisions to 29 policies have been approved by the committee. These policies may be reviewed from the Last Revision Date link on their website.
