Premium Rewards Reflected in Pay on July 15

COVA Care and COVA HealthAware participants who have completed the Premium Reward requirements for the new plan year starting July 1 should see the first Premium Reward on the July 15 paycheck. Due to processing time, participants who meet the new requirements late in June may not see the reward on July 15, but no premium reward will be lost due to processing delays. If a reward is delayed, the full amount of the earned reward will be paid retroactively to the correct effective date. Members that have not completed the requirements to continue the reward will see the loss of the reward on the July 15 paycheck.

It's Not Too Late to Enroll in the Premium Rewards

COVA Care and COVA HealthAware participants may still enroll in the Premium Rewards during the 2016-2017 plan year in order to save up to $34/month on monthly premiums. See the 2016-2017 Premium Reward Requirements link for information on how to take advantage of the reward.

Classified Employee Performance Evaluations

Annual performance evaluations for non-probationary classified employees may be completed and submitted to Human Resources anytime beginning July 1 through September 30, 2016. To ensure thorough and thoughtful evaluation of employee performance, this is an ideal time for:

  • employees and supervisors to receive and provide open and honest feedback on the past year’s performance;
  • employees to communicate their perspectives on performance through a self-evaluation;
  • supervisors to make any necessary adjustments to the position description through PositionLink

As outlined in the Salary Administration Plan and Policy 1305 – Performance Evaluation for Classified Employees, there are five performance rating levels to choose from: Below Contributor, Moderate Contributor, Contributor, High Contributor and Extraordinary Contributor. Ratings are contingent on continued performance for the duration of the performance cycle which officially ends October 24.

Payroll Services will have some new faces soon, as Dana Rigney and Donna May will be leaving JMU to pursue new ventures.
