2018 Spring Conference

BALANCED DUKES invites you to submit a presentation proposal

Do you have successful practices, innovative approaches or expert insights to share with JMU faculty and staff on work-life wellness and balance? This is your chance to share that wisdom with fellow faculty and staff who are eager to engage and learn about wellness of mind, body, balance and relationships.

We are in the early stages of planning a Work-Life Balance Conference to be held in the JMU Festival Conference and Student Center on Monday, March 5, 2018. Submit a proposal for 45 - 60 minute presentation on one of the topics related to work-life balance and wellness: Work, Family, Self, and Community

Why Present?

  • Share your passion and experience. There is nothing like engaging others in a topic you care deeply about and giving them the tools and strategies they need to make an impact.
  • Strengthen your resume. Presenting at a conference is a great way to expand your resume. It is also an opportunity to make new connections with campus colleagues.
  • Take advantage of the opportunity to expand your knowledge. While you’re at the conference, take time to sit in on other presentations to learn more about work-life balance and how it can impact your life.

Who Should Submit a Proposal?

We are looking for faculty and staff presenters to share their how-tos, best practices, case studies and lessons learned, and we are especially interested in the following topics, as they relate to Work-Life Balance in mind, body, balance or relationships:

  • Work
  • Family
  • Self
  • Community

Interested? Send us an email with your name, title of your proposed presentation, and a few paragraphs summarizing your session

Don't delay! Submit your proposal by October 20, 2017 to Human Resources at humanresources@jmu.edu
