Cathy Snyder
Cathy Snyder is a Lecturer in the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department. She has been with JMU since 1998. Having earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Liberty University in 1992, Ms. Snyder went on to work as a Marketing Manager and Loan Officer with what is now known as Summit Financial Group, based in Moorefield, West Virginia. In 1997, she completed her M.B.A. at JMU and moved into Financial Systems Administration with RR Donnelley & Sons of Harrisonburg, Virginia. A year later, she returned to JMU to begin teaching the Intro to Business course for which she has actively involved in piloting during her graduate studies. Additional work experiences have included positions with The Melville Corporation (Toy Works, K-B Toys), General Motors, and Marriott.
Ms. Snyder is actively involved in campus life as a Freshman Advisor, member of the Adult Degree Program committee, Advisor to Alpha Phi, Advisor to the student chapter of the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality, and member of the College of Business Internship Fair committee. Likewise, she is actively involved with community interests regarding her local church and the Long Range Planning Committee of the Massanutten Property Owners' Association.
