Club Managers Association of America (CMAA)
Welcome to the JMU Chapter of CMAA!
The Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) is the professional Association for managers of membership clubs. CMAA has more than 6,500 members who manage more than 3,000 country, city, athletic, faculty, yacht, town and military clubs. The objectives of the Association are to promote and advance friendly relations among persons connected with the management of clubs and other associations of similar character; to encourage the education and advancement of its members; to assist club officers and members, through their managers to secure the utmost in efficient and successful operations.
Here at the JMU Chapter of the CMAA you can expect to have an exciting and fun time while making great contacts in all areas of the hospitality and tourism industry. Some of our most recent events have included:
Club
Tours
Our new members and existing members have had a chance to tour
clubs such as Glenmore Country Club, Cosmos Club, Metropolitan Club
and other clubs located throughout Virginia, Maryland and
beyond.
Fundraising
Our members had an opportunity to volunteer at the Sysco Food show
as well as a
Virginia CMAA Chapter Wine dinner.
Community
Service
Helping out locally our members assisted in the unloading &
sorting of Girl Scout cookies for the Harrisonburg troops and
attended the Stone Springs Elementary
school "spring fair" for a day of playing games and making food
for the kids.
Around the
Nation
We also had 18 members attend the National Conference in
New Orleans, where
we received the award for Highest Growth by Percentage for a
student chapter.
