HSMAI-VAs Scholarship Awards Announced
Hospitality Sales &
Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Chapter of the
Virginias is pleased to announce the recipients of their Annual Dee
Harris Scholarship Award.
Two individuals were chosen for the 2006 Scholarship based on their
need, academic merit, and involvement with the hospitality
industry. HSMAI-VAs is pleased to provide academic
scholarships to: Amy Rubin, James Madison
University, Harrisonburg; and Andrew Shaheen,
Stratford University, Fairfax, Virginia
Virginia
and West Virginia students studying in a bona
fide hospitality program can apply for the HSMAI-VAs Annual
Scholarships. The scholarship funds are used to pay for
tuition and/or books. Applicants are required to submit an
application, a personal statement, an advisor recommendation, a
copy of their college or university transcript and their
resume. The HSMAI-VAs Scholarship Committee considers all
applications and makes the award determination based on the
students' need, academic achievements and involvement with the
hospitality industry.
The scholarship
funds are raised through auctions that are held each year.
HSMAI-VAs will host two online auctions in 2006, one in April and
one in November. The April Scholarship Auction will open
April 10, 2006. You can view and bid on items by visiting www.hsmaiva.org and follow the
links to the auction. HSMAI-VAs provides educational and
networking opportunities for hospitality professionals in the
Virginia and West Virginia area. Membership information is
