4.  When should I begin the Senior Honors Project?

Typically, students begin in the spring of their junior year.  However, students who plan to be away from campus during any of their final three semesters should begin earlier; work on the project is done while students are in residence so that they can be mentored face-to-face by faculty.  Check with your departmental Honors Liaison to know when students in your department are expected to begin.  Some departments have requirements that must be met prior to beginning the senior project, so it is important for students to be aware of those expectations well in advance.

5.  Should I register on e-campus for the 499 classes?

Each department handles registration for 499 classes differently.  Check with your departmental liaison.

6.  Are there any guidelines for projects?

Yes.  Each department has prepared specific guidelines to help students in their area.  Check the guidelines for your major, schedule a meeting with your Honors Liaison, review the senior project information available on the Honors website, and attend a project orientation session (scheduled within the first few weeks of each semester – see Honors Program calendar for dates).
