Senior Honors Project Exact Title due in Honors Program Office, Friday, March 2, by 5:00, for May 2007 graduates only.
March 12: 2nd block classes begin.
March 14: last day to register for 2nd block classes without signatures.
March 14: Madison Day
March 16: last day to withdraw with a W.
March 26-28: Mandatory attendance at one of the senior project formatting workshops for seniors graduating in May. Be sure to sign in. We will look at everyone's project individually, using the checklist provided in the back of the project handbook. Choose one of the following workshops to attend:

Annual National McNair Scholars and Undergraduate Research Conference and Graduate School Fair, at The University of Maryland College Park, March 15-17, in the Inn and Conference Center, 3501 University Blvd. East, Adelphi, Maryland. The Graduate School Fair will be held in the Main Concourse from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Friday, March 16.

John McCain 2008 Presidential Campaign Internship Opportunity. John McCain 2008 is looking for interns to work in the communications department. Major responsibilities will include media monitoring, research, and writing. Those who are accepted will gain experience in the highest level of politics and an understanding of how a national presidential campaign is operated. Writing and research experience is a plus. The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), the nation's premiere honor organization for high achieving college students. Founded in 1994 at The George Washington University, NSCS recognizes outstanding academic achievement among first- and second-year college students. Membership is based on grade point average and class standing, and is by invitation only. NSCS aims to honor, inspire and engage its members, and offers benefits including scholarships, leadership development and travel opportunities and career resources. NSCS has a chapter at JMU. For the third year, NSCS will sponsor its Distinguished Scholars Program this summer for NSCS members from around the country. Based in both Washington, D.C. and Boston, MA, participants will combine an intensive internship with academic study and exploration of one city. NSCS will place students into eight-week, full-time, unpaid internships that are interesting, meaningful, and aligned with career and personal goals. The positions will give students an experience that will provide a competitive edge over their peers by enhancing their resumes and giving them the opportunity to develop a professional network.
