Current students in the Honors College are eligible to apply to MHLC for the upcoming term of January-December 2018. General membership and certain executive positions are available.

What is the Madison Honors Leadership Council?

MHLC serves as the student governing body for the JMU Honors College, representing the interests of Honors students, developing community within the college, and working with Honors staff to develop programs and initiatives that are student-centered. The council plays a direct role in shaping the future of the Honors College.

What does it mean to be a member of the Madison Honors Leadership Council?

Members of MHLC represent student interests in the Honors College. They are the public face of the Honors College and work closely with the Honors staff, alumni, and other honors students. Members meet bimonthly to plan events, discuss ideas and concerns with the Honors faculty, and to build community throughout the college.

How Do I Apply?

Send the application along with a resume and cover letter to MHLC President Devin Boehmer. The cover letter should describe why you are motivated to become a leader within the Honors College.

Applications are due October 30th at 11pm.

If you have any questions, please contact Devin Boehmer.
