Current JMU students may apply for entry to the Honors College through Track II. Track II students take 24 credit hours in Honors, which includes the completion of a Honors Capstone Project. They must maintain good standing in the Honors College.

Learn more about the Track II curriculum.

Students who successfully complete the Track II curriculum are designated as Honors Scholars in the commencement program and on transcripts and diplomas. They also receive an Honors medallion to wear at graduation.

Track II Honors offers students additional faculty-student mentorship opportunities, intensive research and writing preparation, and the development of leadership, service, and inquiry-based learning skills. Honors is excellent preparation for life and work, for graduate or professional school, and other pre- and post-baccalaureate awards and opportunities. Track II students admitted for the spring semester of their freshman year are eligible for second-year Honors housing in Shenandoah Hall or Apartments on Grace.
