These are exciting times at JMU. The recently completed Forbes Center provides a state-of-the-art venue for extraordinary dance, theatre and music performances. The expansion of Bridgeforth Stadium has added 10,000 seats for fans to cheer on our beloved Dukes. And current construction projects on the Biosciences Building and University Park promise to propel Madison forward as one of the nation’s finest universities.
These also are exciting times for JMU graduates. The JMU Alumni Association celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2011, giving us a rare opportunity to both reflect on the past and push forward into the future. At an institution that places a heavy emphasis on both tradition and innovation, we thought this was rather appropriate. Our family of JMU graduates now exceeds 100,000 members, and every day we are reminded of the great things our alumni do as they continue to lead productive and meaningful lives.
Throughout its history, the JMU Alumni Association has celebrated the idea of involvement. Now, as we celebrate our 100th year, we invite you back to see what you helped create — and what you continue to improve. The student (past, present and future) remains at the heart of this university, and the involvement of our alumni forever guarantees the continuation of the Madison Experience.
We hope to see you soon — for Homecoming, for reunions, or just because you feel like stopping by — as we celebrate 100 years of the Alumni Association, 100 years of graduates, and a century of people who continue to embody the Madison Spirit.
Sincerely,

Ashley Privott
Executive Director, JMU Alumni Association
