Submission Guidelines

 

When submitting you paper for consideration please refer to the following guidelines:

 

Article Formatting:

  • Papers should be 15-20 pages in length
  • Times New Roman, 12 pt font
  • All articles should adhere to the latest edition of Turabian’s Manual of Style and include a bibliography (bibliography does not count towards paper length)
  • Save the document as .doc, .docx, or .rtf

 

Submission:

  • The MHR will accept electronic materials emailed to MHR@JMU.EDU saved as .doc, .docx, or .rtf
  • All submissions must include an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Indicate in the email which one of the following categories applies to your paper:
    • American, World, or Public History
  • When attaching the documents to the email make sure their titles adhere to the following format:
    • Last name.first name.cv
    • Last name.first name.field (either American, World, or Public).paper
