Dr. Louise Loe

 Professor of History. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University, and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
  Dr. Loe teaches Russian history, World History and Human Rights. She is the Advisor for the Russian Studies Minor. Her research interests are modern Russia and global Human Rights. She has contributed chapters to Nietzsche in Russia and Between Tsar and People: Educated Society and the Quest for Public Identity in Late Imperial Russia. In her book, A Passion for Freedom: Personal Stories on Human Rights, Dr. Loe discusses Human Rights issues and presents the writings of Human Rights activists. During the summer, she leads Short-Term Study Abroad programs in Europe.
