Dr. Jamie Frye has joined James Madison University as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator for the Athletic Training Education Program. As an Iowa native, she received her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She completed her Masters in Athletic Training at Indiana State University and went on to be a head athletic trainer and instructor at Kansas Wesleyan University. Following her 2 year tenure at KWU, she completed her Doctorate in Sports Medicine at the University of Virginia. During that time, she worked as the head athletic trainer for the Blue Ridge School, an all boys boarding school in St. George, Virginia. Prior to coming to JMU, Dr. Frye served as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator for the Athletic Training Program at the University of Toledo.
Dr. Frye’s current research interests focus on understanding biomechanical and muscle adaptations to chronic knee injuries. She serves as an accreditation site visitor and as a reviewer for a number of Athletic Training scientific journals.
Dr. Frye resides in Harrisonburg with her husband Dan and their new daughter Ella.
