Additional Herpes Information

Additional Herpes Info:
Between 10-20% of herpes cases are diagnosed clinically, usually during primary outbreak. Most other infections remain undiagnosed without antibody testing - The Herpes Monitor, vol.5, no.2, October 2007.

This herpes antibody test will tell if you have been exposed to herpes simplex 1, which causes oral herpes (cold sores), and herpes simplex 2, which causes genital herpes.

Be aware that herpes simplex 1 can manifest in the genital area and herpes simplex 2 can manifest orally.

These antibodies appear about 3-4 months after exposure.
